About Bertam Resort & Water Park Penang
Located in the charming town of Bertam, Kepala Batas, Penang, this 20-acre resort boasts 300 luxurious keys, an expansive grand lobby, and six dining outlets, including a bar and lobby lounge. The resort's grand pillarless ballroom, event spaces, and spectacular pool create a perfect setting for both leisure and corporate travelers. Its Moorish architecture is inspired by the grandeur of the Middle East, creating a magical and contemporized setting that rejuvenates the mind and soul.
About the internship
This fully paid internship program is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the tourism and hospitality industry, as well as hands-on experience in various aspects of resort operations. By committing to a minimum of 6- to 12- months, you will have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the resort's daily operations and gain invaluable work experience.

Accommodation and Amenities: The resort will provide you with comfortable accommodation and a basic Bahasa class to help you navigate the local culture.
Flight Inclusion: Only if you commit to a twelve-month internship, the resort will include your flight to and from Penang.
Add in costs
Admin fee to TGS: Includes application processing, one-night accommodation in KL, orientation, and welcome lunch/dinner. Half-day KL tour and welcome pack.
Professional Visit Pass (PVP): Costs around RM800 to RM1,000. It only will be waived for interns taking up the 12- month placement. The resort will apply for this.

ETS from Penang to Kuala Lumpur
The resort is close to the Electric Train Service (ETS) that connects to Kuala Lumpur, offers a convenient, fast, and reliable option for interns to explore Malaysia's capital city. The ETS is Malaysia’s fastest metre-gauge train service, reaching speeds of up to 140 km/h. This high-speed service operates along the West Coast Line, covering the stretch between Padang Besar (on the Malaysia-Thai border) and Gemas. With regular schedules, it allows for flexible travel times and providing a smooth and comfortable journey from Penang to Kuala Lumpur.

Bertam Resort is situated near the Thai border, providing interns with opportunities to visit Thailand during their stay.
Close Proximity to Penang Island
Despite being located on the mainland, Bertam Resort is in close proximity to Penang Island, a popular tourist destination known for its rich culture, delicious food, and historical sites. Interns can easily visit Penang Island to immerse themselves in the local culture and explore its attractions. The resort is alos just a 1 hour drive from Penang International Airport, allowing easy access for interns arriving from abroad.
