Global & International Studies
Overview
Global and international Studies cover a wide range of areas, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of this field. Depending on the organization and its focus, internships may involve research, policy analysis, program management, communications, community outreach, event planning, or a combination of these. The Global Student partners with a diversity of Non-government organizations (NGOs) and community-based organizations (CBO) that work with the under-represented and marginalized sections of the community in Malaysia.
Opportunities
Research - Conduct literature reviews and data analysis, stakeholder survey and analysis, and assist in the development of research projects.
Policy Analysis – Analyze global and local policies, monitor and report on policy changes or developments, and contribute to recommendations.
Program Management - Assist in the planning and implementing of community programs, coordinate logistics, and monitor and evaluate outcomes.
Communication and Outreach – engage with stakeholders and partners, draft and edit content for websites, reports, and social media; assist in developing localized communication strategies.
Human Rights - Monitor and assist in the documentation and analysis of human rights violations, and contribute to advocacy campaigns.
International Development – Conduct community needs assessments and impact evaluations, collaborate with local partners and communities, and support the planning and execution of community development projects.
NGO, Nonprofit, and CBO - Assist in day-to-day operations, assist with development of fundraising campaigns, support advocacy and awareness campaigns.
Diplomacy and International Relations - Assist in diplomatic protocol and communication, researching international relations topics, support diplomatic missions and events.
Trade and Economic Development - Analyse international trade policies and agreements, assist in economic research and market analysis, support initiatives for economic developments
Environmental Studies - Research global and local environmental issues, support community conservation and sustainability projects, and assist in the development of localized environmental policies.
